Process
I bring people together to use expert craft to solve complex problems.
Design Thinking Framework
I use a design-thinking framework, which follows an overall flow of 1) understand, 2) explore, and 3) materialize. Within these larger stages are six phases: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and implement.
Adapt to fit project needs
I don’t believe a single process is right for every project. I support a flexible approach that adapts to changing needs and goals, and free the team up to be great creative problem solvers.
Design is not a straight line
The right solution is the result of continuous iteration—exploring all possibilities and alternatives (divergent), evaluating and choosing which to pursue (convergent) —at all times, for concepts or details.
Emotional rollercoaster
Most projects follow a similar emotional arc: initial excitement and inspiration, followed by cycles of hope and doubt, a crash where everything seems wrong, the subsequent moment of insight and confidence, and some last-minute challenges while as we stay excited for the final solution. My job as a design leader is to support multidisciplinary teams throughout the journey to create products and services that foster transformation, beauty, and meaningful impact.
